K65's fieldtrip to Malaysia

September 2023, 52 K65 students and two lecturers of FIS had a fieldtrip to the beautiful country of Malaysia.

FIS students won the competition about the Mekong River

Introducing the production of paper from sugarcane leaves, a group of FIS students hopes to create valuable agricultural products, increase income for sugarcane farmers and build a model of circular economy in agriculture. This project won the first prize in the Mekong River competition among 20 teams from 6 countries.

Congratulations to new doctors and masters in International Studies

July 30, 2023, USSH held a Degree Awarding Ceremony for newly-recognzied Doctors and Masters in 2023. There are 4 new PhDs and 11 Masters in International Relations from the Faculty of International Studies.

FIS students attended UNESCO's event - "For a future without plastic waste"

June 15, 2023, FIS students participated in "For a future without plastic waste" event organized by UNESCO at the UN's Green One Building in response to World Environment Day 2023 with the theme of "Solutions to plastic pollution".

June 13, 2023, FIS organized an introduction to majors for K66 students with the attendance by Prof. Bui Thanh Nam (Head of the School's Training Department, Head of Americas Studies Division), Prof. Hoang Khac Nam (Chairman of the Faculty's Scientific and Training Council, representative of the Department of International Relations), Prof. Bui Hong Hanh (Head of European Studies Division), Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Trang (Head of International Development Studies Division), Mr. Ngo Tuan Thang - representative of the Faculty Leadership Board, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Chi (K66 Learning Advisor) and K66 students.

Developing international think tanks: Experience from Lowy Research Institute (Australia)

June 6, 2023 - the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU-USSH) had a working session with Dr. Michael Fullilove - Executive Director of Lowy Institute - Australia.

FIS K65 students had a fieldtrip in Thailand

The students had a tour of the most famous places in Thailand and experienced the country's unique cuisine in the coastal city of Pattaya and the capital Krung Thep Maha Nakhon (or as it is commonly known as Bangkok).

“Overcome Your Fear to Lead Yourself Better”

In the morning of April 17, 2002, an exchange session with the theme: "Overcome Your Fear" was held within the framework of the BecomingU Project, an initiative by three FIS students sponsored by the Foundation for Vietnamese Excellence and Bac A Commercial Joint Stock Bank after the Community Initiative Contest at the aim of improving the students' sense of leadership.

On June 21, 2020, the first training session with the topic Basic knowledge of the environment took place within the framework of 3 training sessions of the Youth for the Environment project.organized by Green Eye Group and Foundation for Vietnamese stature at Room G04, TH School No. 6 Chua Boc, Dong Da, Hanoi.

From 6 to 8 July 2022, FIS members of the project “social inclusion of rural migrants in Hanoi” attended the DSA2022 online conference hosted by the University College London. This is the second time that members of the project team have attended a conference of DSA (Development Studies Association).

FIS lecturers attended conference on migration in Ireland

From August 28 to September 3, 2022, team members visisted two Irish cities, Dublin and Cork. Those were the last activities within the framework of the project “Socio-economic inclusion of rural migrants in Hanoi”.

Social Inclusion Vietnam Program

Social Inclusion Vietnam is a collaborative programme of research between University College Cork (Ireland) and the University of the Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU, Hanoi). It is led by Dr Edward Lahiff (UCC) and Prof. Dr Pham Quang Minh (USSH), and funded jointly by the Irish Research Council and Irish Aid. It ran from April 2019 to October 2022.

New Executive Committee of FIS Youth Union for the term 2022-2024

March 21, 2023, the Conference to strengthen the Executive Committee of the Youth Union of the Faculty of International Studies for the term 2022-2024 took place successfully.
