On May 5, the Faculty of International Studies will hold a scientific event "International Development Studies: Career Opportunities" presented by Dr. Edward Lahiff, lecturer in international development from University College Cork, Ireland.

Dr. Edward Lahiff received bachelor's and master's degrees from the National University of Ireland and the University of Manchester and later received a doctorate in development studies from the University of London. He has spent many years working in Africa in the field of agriculture with NGOs as well as being a senior lecturer at the University of the Western Cape. His main research interests include agricultural and rural livelihoods, sustainable natural resource governance, and food security.


With his extensive working experience in developing countries, Dr. Edward Lahiff will share valuable information with students. Especially, after a long time without many events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this talk is a very good opportunity for students to hear useful knowledge for their future careers. .
