Developing international think tanks: Experience from Lowy Research Institute (Australia)

June 6, 2023 - the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU-USSH) had a working session with Dr. Michael Fullilove - Executive Director of Lowy Institute - Australia.

At the meeting, Dr. Dao Thanh Truong spoke highly of Dr. Michael Fullilove's feelings when visiting and working with school leaders as well as having discussions with students on current issues of concern. According to Vice President Dao Thanh Truong, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is implementing its strategic development goals towards a research university, continuing to affirm its leading position in research and training. social sciences and humanities of Vietnam, striving to put the school in the group of 150 leading universities in Asia by 2025, and by 2035 in the group of 100 leading universities on the continent and on par with advanced universities (in the group of 500) of the world.

Lowy Institute is one of a number of independent consulting organizations founded in April 2003 by Frank Lowy to conduct policy-related research on political, strategic, and political issues, international economics from an Australian perspective. The Lowy Institute is considered a leading unit in Australia and is famous in the world for its international relations research projects, Asia Power Index, Interactive Map of Finance, and Asia Power Index in Asia. Lowy Research Institute presented to USSH its experience in developing prestigious international Think Tank organizations. 

After meeting and working with representatives of VNU-USSH, Dr. Michael Fullilove attended a conversation with FIS lecturers and students on Australian foreign policy, the Asia Power Index and working opportunities for think tanks.
