Workshop "Research methods for graduate students, PhD students"

Research methods play an extremely important role in the formation of a thesis or thesis of good quality. With that in mind, on May 6, the Faculty of International Studies organized a scientific activity "Research Methods for Postgraduate Students and PhD Students" presented by Dr. Edward Lahiff, lecturer in international development from University College Cork, Ireland.

Dr. Edward Lahiff received bachelor's and master's degrees from the National University of Ireland and the University of Manchester and later received a doctorate in development studies from the University of London. He has spent many years working in Africa in the field of agriculture with NGOs as well as being a senior lecturer at the University of the Western Cape. His main research interests include agricultural and rural livelihoods, sustainable natural resource governance, and food security. He has had many international publications in books of prestigious publishers as well as in scientific journals of the Scopus catalog. In addition, he also participates as a reviewer for scientific journals.

With his extensive research experience, Dr. Edward Lahiff will share valuable information with graduate students and graduate students. With the current trend of interdisciplinary research, being exposed to many different research methods can suggest different approaches to research papers. Not only that, after a long time without many events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this talk is a very good opportunity for graduate students and doctoral students to listen to useful knowledge, directly related to their thesis, thesis as well as future research directions.
