Introduction

FIS was established in 1995 and is a pioneer in paving the way for teaching and research in international studies in Vietnam. It focuses on the study of global and regional international issues, so the teaching and research have an interdisciplinary orientation (history, law, economy, culture, international relations), combining international and national aspects, associated with the position and role of Vietnam on the international stage; linking global and regional problems with Vietnam's context, theoretical topics, social practice, and the development of the country.

Alumni of FIS have found employment in numerous public and private institutions in Vietnam. Some of them are lecturers at universities, researchers at institutes, and administrative workers for the state. A limited number of alumni have become key state agency officials. In Vietnam, many have found employment in socio-economic organizations, national and international NGOs and IGOs, central and local news agencies, and domestic and foreign-owned businesses.
