Programs

  • BA in International Studies: since 1995
  • MA in International Studies: since 2004
  • PhD in International Studies: since 2014

For a period of 27 years (1995-2022), the FIS has trained approximately 2,500 undergraduate students, 400 MA students, and 80 PhD students. 

The BA programs were designed in 1995, and revised in 2012, 2015, and 2019.  The 2023 new BA program is updating to replace the 2019 ones to offer students up-to-date knowledge, skills, and ethical standards to be experts in the international studies area.

Research 

FIS research focuses on international issues in the various dimensions of  history of international relations, foreign policy of Vietnam and other countries, global and regional politics, economy and culture, international law, global development issues, international institutions, etc.

Since 2019, the Faculty has hosted 3 international conferences and completed numerous research and capacity-building projects on various issues in regards to international relations and foreign policy at the global, regional, and national levels. Having been constructing and nurturing a professional and inspirational environment, the FIS’s members have published various publications in Vietnamese and English, of which more than 20 are international publications, and 5 international peer-reviewed book chapters.

International relations

In addition to co-operation with numerous universities, institutes, and think tanks in Vietnam, the FIS has collaborated with a growing number of research and teaching institutions, foundations worldwide. Through these collaborations, the FIS has carried out international exchange programs, research projects, workshops and conferences, joint publications, and joint teaching. The FIS’s domestic and international collaborations have networked and promoted Vietnamese and international scholars to discuss key topics of politics, foreign policy, culture, society, the economy, and development of Vietnam and other countries.
